In late July, new houses prepared by North Korea after four months of restoration work in the Yalu River basin, which was hit by heavy flood damage, were held in the presence of Chairman Kim Jong-un.

The Korean Central News Agency reported that Chairman Kim attended the ceremony, saying that the completion ceremony of the house in the affected area of Pyeonganbuk-do was held on December 21.

In his speech, Chairman Kim praised the achievement as a miracle of the construction company, not only during the construction period, but also in the most unfavorable conditions for location and transportation of water.

In addition, he stressed that the cause of the flood damage was human resources, and that in order to cope with the crisis in the future, the restoration work was thoroughly completed on its own without the support of the international community.

The completion ceremony was attended by the party's leadership, including members of the Standing Committee of the Labor Party's Political Bureau, and the "Baekdu Mountain Hero Youth Charge Team," which was mobilized for restoration work.
