The corporation argues that since the Dongdaegu Station Plaza, where the statue is installed, is owned by the state, an agreement with the creditor, the National Railroad Corporation, should precede the installation of the statue.
As a result, the corporation asked the court to stop the construction of the statue of former President Park, which the Daegu Metropolitan Government is unilaterally pushing for, and to charge 5 million won a day if it goes ahead with the installation.
While Daegu City is expected to hold the unveiling ceremony of the statue tomorrow afternoon (23rd), the Democratic Party of Korea and civic groups announced a press conference to denounce the statue at Dongdaegu Station Square.
