The National Farmers' Association and Emergency Action held a rally at Hangangjin Station in Hannam-dong, Seoul at around 6 p.m. yesterday (22nd), condemning the police for blocking farmers and calling for the resignation of President Yoon Suk Yeol.
About 10 tractors, who were stranded in Nam Tae-ryeong, marched down the road and joined the Han River Jin Station rally near President Yoon's residence at around 6:30 p.m.
More than 10,000 farmers and citizens gathered at the rally, estimated by the organizer, and they dispersed around 8 p.m. without much conflict.
The police, who created a "car wall" to prevent farmers due to concerns over traffic congestion in the city, withdrew from Namtaeryeong at around 4:40 p.m. yesterday, about 28 hours later.
Earlier, Jeonnong members drove about 30 tractors and 50 trucks from all over the country to Seoul from the 16th, demanding the enforcement of four agricultural laws, including the Grain Management Act, and the arrest of President Yoon.
Those who passed Gyeonggi-do Province and entered Namtaeryeong Pass in Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu at around 12 p.m. on the 21st were blocked by police who controlled eight lanes in both directions of Gwacheon-daero.
Warlords and citizens held an overnight protest rally on the road for two nights, demanding police clear the car wall.
