Kwon Sung-dong, the acting leader and floor leader of the party, said at a press conference at the National Assembly that the NEC made the decision on the premise that the impeachment trial would be cited and an early presidential election would take place.
He then stressed that the NEC has no choice but to judge that it is conducting a pre-election campaign for Lee Jae-myung, and that he requests a stern warning and reconsideration of the decision.
Floor spokesman Seo Ji-young also issued a comment, claiming that the NEC's decision justified an unfair political offensive toward the people's power and that it was a serious violation of the political neutrality obligation.
Earlier, when National Election Commission member Jeong Yeon-wook tried to post a banner saying, "Still, not Lee Jae-myung" in his district, the National Election Commission did not allow it, calling it a pre-election campaign for the purpose of losing the election, but allowed the banner of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party to be posted, saying that Chung was an accomplice in rebellion.
