"Ending civil war, the fastest way to resolve the chaos in state affairs."
Political circles are in conflict with the ruling party, suggesting the impeachment of acting President Han Deok-soo, who is considering whether to promulgate the "Civil War Special Counsel Act" handled by the National Assembly.
Starting today, confirmation hearings for candidates to fill the vacancy of the Constitutional Court are also underway, but the ruling party is not participating.

The opposition party's pressure on acting Han Deok-soo is increasing day by day, right?
[Reporter]
Yes, the Democratic Party of Korea has launched an emergency action at the party level from today, calling for a swift presidential arrest investigation and impeachment trial.
Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the party, repeatedly hinted at impeachment, saying he would not ignore the so-called "insurrection remnants"' time-dragging operations, and that he would immediately take steps to hold Han Deok-soo accountable if he did not promulgate the independent counsel law by tomorrow.
The Democratic Party of Korea is dismissing the public's criticism that the impeachment of Han will disrupt the operation of state affairs, saying that the fastest way to resolve the chaos in state affairs is to end the civil war.
The People's Power accused the Democratic Party of staging an "impeachment hostage" that it would stab at any time if it did not do what it wanted with a majority of seats.
Kwon Sung-dong, the acting leader and floor leader of the party, said that if Han is to be impeached, he should go through procedures comparable to those of the president, not the prime minister, and argued that 200 votes in favor of the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol are needed.
He also stressed that even if the Democratic Party interprets the process as it wants, National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik should take the center stage, but floor leaders of both parties have been holding regular meetings presided over by Chairman Woo for a while.
It is expected to discuss the schedule of the year-end plenary session, a national council involving the government and the National Assembly, and a parliamentary investigation into the emergency martial law situation.

The Constitutional Court hearing is also being held by the opposition alone?
[Reporter]
Yes, today's hearings for candidates Ma Eun-hyuk and Chung Gye-seon, recommended by the Democratic Party, are held one after another, and tomorrow's hearing for Cho Han-chang, recommended by the People's Power, is scheduled.
The ruling party, which has opposed the addition of constitutional judges, has not appeared at the hearing.
Instead, first-time lawmakers in the party held seminars on issues in the Constitutional Court's impeachment proceedings and pointed out problems when the acting president exercised his power to appoint a new constitutional judge in the face of a presidential suspension.
If the opposition party pushes ahead with the appointment process, it plans to ask the Constitutional Court for a competitive trial on the matter itself to argue against its unconstitutionality.
On the other hand, the Democratic Party of Korea is in a position to convene a plenary session to vote on the appointment motion as soon as the constitutional judge hearing process is over.
At a morning meeting, Lee Jae-myung said the ruling party is ignoring the constitutional justice appointment process and sticking to its strategy of holding out, arguing that destroying the entire constitutional order would not free it from the responsibility of sympathizing with the civil war.

What other parliamentary activities are there to find out the truth about the martial law today?
[Reporter]
The National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee, which is in charge of the police, convened a plenary meeting to ask questions about pending issues.
It is expected that there will be a series of questions about whether the investigation is going well against officials from the National Investigation Headquarters investigating the emergency martial law situation.
In addition, officials from the National Election Commission, the agency in charge of the National Security Commission, will attend, and damage to institutions at the time of martial law or conspiracy to commit fraudulent elections, which President Yoon Suk Yeol put forward as a justification, can become a hot topic.
People's Power has recently taken issue with the NEC's decision to allow the posting of banners describing ruling party lawmakers as "civil war accomplices" and not allow banners criticizing Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung as biased.
In addition, Park Sun-young, chairman of the Truth and Reconciliation Committee, appointed by President Yoon Suk Yeol before the suspension of his duties, will attend today's meeting.
The opposition party doubts whether Park is a boeun personnel appointment based on the fact that he is related to Constitutional Judge Jeong Hyeong-sik, the chief justice of the presidential impeachment trial.
