Opposition lawmakers criticized the public's claim that acting President Han Deok-soo cannot appoint a candidate for the Constitutional Court recommended by the National Assembly as having no legal basis.
He also argued that even if the confirmation hearing process is carried out without the ruling party, it is based on the majority rule and is not a violation of parliamentaryism.
The opposition party plans to hold a hearing on Cho Han-chang recommended by the People's Power tomorrow (24th) and vote on the appointment of three candidates at the plenary session.
