The Gwangju District Court issued an arrest warrant for A, an aide to a lawmaker of South Jeolla Province who belongs to the Democratic Party of Korea, today (23rd), saying there is a fear of destroying evidence and fleeing.
Mr. A is suspected of taking tens of millions of won in bribes from a local businessman in the name of providing convenience for the government subsidy project.
The prosecution recently re-applied the warrant after complementary investigations after applying for an arrest warrant once last month and was rejected.
