Acting President Han Deok-soo vetoed six controversial bills, including the Grain Management Act, on the 19th.An extraordinary Cabinet meeting was held two days before the deadline for exercising

veto rights.

Acting President Han Deok-soo said he needed time to ponder, suggesting the spirit of the constitution and the future of the country as the basis for judgment.

[Han Deok-soo / Acting President (last 19th): We decided to put the spirit of the Constitution and the future of the country first]

Acting President Han faced opposition pressure to set a date and quickly promulgate the Insurrection Special Prosecutor Act and the Special Prosecutor Kim Gun-hee Act.

However, this time again, we will consider as much time as possible until January 1st, the deadline for exercising the veto.

As a result, a regular cabinet meeting to be held on Tuesday the 31st is expected to decide whether to veto the two special prosecution laws.

An official from the Prime Minister's Office said he would decide after hearing various opinions until just before the deadline for veto.

It is in a similar atmosphere to the last six controversial bills.

However, analysts say that there is little justification for rejecting the Insurrection Special Prosecutor Act as acting Han Deok-soo is a suspect in a rebellion-related investigation.

It is currently impossible to predict what decision will be made on the Special Prosecutor Kim Gun-hee Act.

If acting Han Deok-soo is impeached as declared by the opposition party, Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok will be the acting president according to the ranking of the State Council members under the Government Organization Act.
