The government is unlikely to introduce the Insurrection Special Prosecutor Act and the Special Prosecutor Kim Gun-hee Act to the Cabinet meeting held today (24th).

A senior official from the Prime Minister's Office told reporters, "We also need to look at various constitutional and legal elements regarding the two independent counsel laws," adding, "We need more time to solve the higher-order equation."

This means that we will not accept the Democratic Party's demand to promulgate the Special Prosecutor Act until today.

As a result, the possibility of acting President Han Deok-soo making a final decision at the Cabinet meeting on the 31st, the day before the deadline for exercising his veto power, has increased.

Earlier, acting Han Deok-soo presided over an extraordinary Cabinet meeting on the 19th and vetoed six controversial bills, including the Grain Management Act, drawing opposition from the opposition party.
