Prosecutors investigating the case of political broker Myung Tae-kyun have secured a call file on Myung's mobile phone, so-called "golden phone," related to the alleged intervention of Yoon Suk Yeol's presidential nomination. It was found that President Yoon

told Yoon Sang-hyun, then chairman of the nomination management committee, directly about the nomination of former lawmaker Kim Young-sun.

In October, the Democratic Party of Korea released a 17-second recording file containing the phone call between President Yoon Suk Yeol and Myung Tae-kyun.

It was about allegations that President Yoon was involved in the nomination of former lawmaker Kim Young-sun, who entered the National Assembly in June two years ago through by-elections.

The call date, May 9, 2022, is the day before the inauguration of the president and a day before the announcement of candidates for by-elections.

[Kim Yoon Suk Yeol / Then-President-elect: The mission committee brought it to me, so I asked Kim Young-sun to do it since the election, but the party talked a lot.

[Mr. Myung Taekyun: I will never forget your kindness. Thank you.]

Afterwards, the prosecution secured the entire original file of the call recording for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds through a random analysis of the mobile phone and USB forensics that Myung submitted.

In the original, President Yoon mentioned to Myung the name of lawmaker Yoon Sang-hyun, then chairman of the nomination management committee for the by-elections, in relation to the nomination of former lawmaker Kim.

The prosecution found that Yoon Han-hong and Kwon Sung-dong seemed uncomfortable with the nomination of Kim Young-sun, so President Yoon said he would talk about it again because Yoon is the chairman of the mission.

This contradicts the fact that the head of the mission said at a press conference in November that he had never asked anyone to nominate him, and that he did not even know that Yoon Sang-hyun was a lawmaker.

[Yoon Suk Yeol / President (press conference on the 7th of last month): At that time, I thought the head of the mission (by-election) was Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-suk. I think the chairman of the local election commission is doing this together.... I've only talked about principles and principles, but I've never said who to nominate.]

The prosecution also reportedly secured the details of the phone call between President Yoon and Myung about 50 minutes after the phone call. The prosecution believes that Mrs.

Kim told Mr. Myung, "The person-in-law called now, don't worry, it will be fine."

In addition, it was found that Myung's four deliveries of the results of the "non-public opinion poll" to President Yoon through messenger before and after the last presidential election were included in the prosecution's data.
