Israeli Defense Minister Katz attended an event on the 23rd local time and admitted that Haniyeh's death in Iran's capital Tehran in July was based on his country's operations, AFP reported.
The comments came as a warning message was sent to Yemen's Houthin rebels, who have attacked Israel since the outbreak of the Gaza war.
"We will attack the Houthis strongly and decapitate their leadership," Katz said, stressing that he would do so in Hodeida and Sanaa, just as we did in Tehran and Gaza and Lebanon to Haniye and Sinwar and Nasrallah.
Hodeidah and Sana are the base of the Houthis in Yemen.
Israel usually adheres to the "NCND" principle, which does not acknowledge or deny acts such as assassinations abroad, and analysts say this unusual confirmation reflects Israel's confidence in the recent war situation.
