The Supreme Court upheld the original ruling that acquitted five Asia-Pacific Association executives, including Chairman Ahn, who was handed over to trial on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.
The Supreme Court said there was no fault in the lower court's innocence judgment, violating the laws of logic and experience, deviating from the limits of liberalism or misunderstanding the law on the establishment of violations of the Public Official Election Act.
Chairman Ahn was put on trial between the end of December 2021 and January of the following year on charges of forming a private organization and illegally campaigning to support Lee Jae-myung, who was the 20th presidential candidate.
Earlier, the first and second trials shared information at a meeting formed by Chairman Ahn, but found it difficult to say that he had campaigned and acquitted him, and the Supreme Court maintained the same judgment.
