The National Assembly's impeachment panel, which will take on the role of prosecutor in the impeachment trial of Yoon Suk Yeol's president, says it has received a proof plan and the first submission of evidence to the Constitutional Court.

Rep. Choi Ki-ki of the Democratic Party of Korea, the secretary of the impeachment panel, said at a press conference at the National Assembly that Chung Cheong-rae, a member of the impeachment committee, submitted a proof plan and a list of evidence to the Constitutional Court yesterday (24th) afternoon through his representatives.

He then explained that attachments to the impeachment resolution of President Yoon, the proclamation of the martial law commander, the minutes and videos of the plenary session of the National Assembly and the standing committee on emergency martial law were submitted as primary evidence.

Choi explained that he also requested each investigative agency to send six people, including former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun and former counterintelligence commander Yeo In-hyeong, and former intelligence commander Moon Sang-ho and Roh Sang-won to the Constitutional Court.

In addition, several key witnesses were applied to prove unconstitutional and illegal acts, including those who received direct instructions from President Yoon, adding that the actual adoption of witnesses is likely to be coordinated during the trial.
