U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's recent lawsuit against the media has sparked controversy in the U.S. media community.

Trump has filed a civil suit against the local leading magazine Des Moines Register, accusing it of misleading public opinion trends in Iowa, the Republican-dominated state, to trick voters and put more funds into it.

He also took issue with an interview with Vice President Harris, his presidential rival, and filed a lawsuit with CBS News worth $10 billion and 14.6 trillion won in our money.

Terrestrial broadcaster ABC, which was sued for defamation after the anchor described Trump's allegations of "sexual harassment" as "rape," decided to pay a $15 million settlement and issue an apology as a condition of closing the lawsuit.

There are concerns that media companies sued by Trump will be daunted or self-censored when reporting negative content about Trump, as they have to deal with great stress and litigation costs.
