How's the atmosphere there?

[Reporter]
Yes, this place is full of citizens who visited the cathedral to enjoy Christmas.

Various works celebrating the birth of Jesus and a huge teddy bear Santa are also displayed throughout the cathedral.

Family, lovers, and friends are taking pictures of each other and leaving Christmas memories.

Seeing the faces of citizens full of laughter makes me feel the warmth of Christmas.

Since this morning, a Christmas festival called Myeongdong, Lighting Up Winter has been held here.

At the Christmas market held in the square in front of the cathedral, you can enjoy food such as various crafts, sausages, and roasted chestnuts.

The Hope Tree installed at the entrance of the market also sees people hanging prayer cards for the country and the home.

In the evening, the rose garden will be lit up with colorful lights, and various events such as choir performances and media facades will follow.

So let's hear from the citizens who are enjoying Christmas here.

[Oh Chang-yeop and Lee Seon-jeong (Oh Gun-woo and Oh Ji-ho) / Seohyun-dong, Bundang-gu, Gyeonggi-do: We were abroad and came in early this year, so the children are having their first winter Christmas, and it's so nice because the weather is nice and there are so many people. I'm so happy that we shared it with each other and let the children experience a very meaningful Christmas.]

At noon today, the Christmas Mass was held here.

Citizens in long lines could also be seen an hour before the Christmas Mass began.

Archbishop Chung Soon-taek, who presided over the Mass, said, "Now that we are spending the end of the year in great confusion and conflict, a 'warm attitude of respect for human beings' is the most important thing, and I hope this Christmas will be a time of 'hope' to make peace together."

Christmas crowds are expected to gather here and there today.

Please pay attention to traffic and walking safety and have a warm and happy Christmas.
