On the 25th, various second-hand trading platforms posted a series of posts on the proxy purchase of strawberry syrup cakes with a sales price of 49,000 won.
One netizen said, "I will buy you strawberry syrup or the youngest strawberry syrup (small version of strawberry syrup) in Seongsimdang instead," and mentioned 35,000 won as a labor cost excluding the price of the cake.
Another netizen, who said he has been in line for Sungsimdang since dawn, said the hourly wage for proxy purchases was 5,000 won, and the estimated waiting time was 7 hours. In addition, he said he would receive a reservation fee of 30,000 won to prevent the transaction from being disrupted.
It was also popular to resell for more money. At Carrot Market, the youngest strawberry syrup (small version of strawberry syrup) with a sales price of 43,000 won came up to 140,000 won.
The seller explained, "We sell it for 140,000 won by calculating transportation costs (65,000 won) and labor costs (30,000 won) by adding toll gate costs and gas costs to 43,000 won."
The Sungsimdang, which prohibits such reselling, recently warned on its website that "there may be legal sanctions for purchasing agents (third-party sales)."
Seongsimdang started taking reservations for Christmas cakes on the 2nd of this month, and the strawberry syrup series has been on sale at all times since the 23rd without receiving separate reservations. Strawberry siru is in production until early April.
