Japan Airlines said a network device connecting inside and outside the company was attacked by a cyber attack at around 7:24 a.m. this morning, causing a problem in the passenger's baggage management system.

Japan Airlines said the system failure is likely to affect international and domestic flights, and as of 10 a.m. today, nine domestic flights were delayed by up to an hour.

Japan Airlines has also suspended the release of new international and domestic flights departing today, but added that previously reserved tickets can be used as they are.

All Nippon Airways, considered one of Japan's two largest airlines along with Japan Airlines, said it was operating flights as previously planned because there were no cyberattacks against the company.
