The Ministry of Employment and Labor said it will end the 52-hour workweek system, which was granted to workplaces with fewer than 30 employees from January 1 to 31 last year.

However, in order to minimize the difficulties of some workplaces, the head of the local government office has temporarily given an additional three months of correction opportunities in consideration of corporate circumstances until the end of June next year.

Earlier, the Ministry of Labor gave a correction period of up to nine months even if violations of the 52-hour workweek were detected during the guidance period.

The Ministry of Labor explained that it decided to end the guidance considering that the ratio of violations of the law was not high compared to the total workplace during the two-year guidance period and that corrections were made within an average of four months.
