Russia is reportedly planning to deploy more than 10 new hypersonic missiles in its ally Belarus.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who attended the Eurasian Economic Union summit, responded to a reporter's question about plans to deploy "Oresynik" at the moment, according to Interfax, saying, "I think we will deploy about 10 more, and if Russia wants to deploy more, we will."

Russian President Putin, who appeared suddenly while President Lukashenko was responding, responded with laughter by joking about the need for so many "Oresynik."

'Oresynik' is a ballistic missile that Russia test-fired on Ukraine last month, and Putin has insisted it cannot be shot down by either air defense at the moment.

Earlier on the 6th, Putin mentioned that he could deploy "Oresynik" in Belarus around the second half of next year.

Russia deployed tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus last year, and recently revised its nuclear doctrine to lay the groundwork for the use of nuclear weapons in conventional weapons attacks that pose a "significant threat" to Belarus.
