The Israeli military says it has bombed Sanaa's airports, power generation facilities and military infrastructure on the west coast with fighter jets.
"The Houthi terrorist regime smuggled Iranian weapons through these facilities and sent high-ranking Iranian officials into the country," he said.
Local media run by the Houthi rebels reported that four people were killed and 16 wounded in Israeli airstrikes.
In addition, the World Health Organization and WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus, who were preparing to board a private jet at Sanaa Airport during the airstrike, were also spared from the damage by a short distance.
"One of the plane's crew members was injured," Secretary General Ghebreyesus said on social media, adding, "The control tower, departure lounge and runway, just a few meters from where we were, were damaged."
Shortly after the airstrike, Iran condemned it in a statement by a foreign ministry spokesman as "a clear violation of international peace and security and a crime against the Yemeni people."
Since the start of the war between Hamas and Israel in October last year, Houthi rebels have attacked ships passing through the Red Sea in the name of supporting Hamas and have exchanged airstrikes with Israeli forces.
On the 21st, the U.S. military launched a retaliatory airstrike on the Houthi military facility after the Houthis fired a missile into Tel Aviv, Israel, injuring 16 residents.
