Russian President Vladimir Putin made the remarks at a news conference after the Eurasian Economic Union summit in Leningrad, according to Tas news agency.
Putin said Slovak Prime Minister Robert Pizzo visited Moscow on the 22nd and made the proposal to him, expressing a positive position that Slovakia is an "acceptable option" as it is in a neutral position.
Slovakia is a member of both the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the European Union, which are at odds with Russia, but it is taking a "pro-Russia" line.
Putin also said Russia was working to complete the conflict in Ukraine and that "achieving all the goals of Ukraine's military operation in 2025 is a top priority."
