The Brazilian Air Force has dispatched agents to Kazakhstan to investigate the crash of the Azerbaijani aircraft, foreign media said.

According to Reuters, Brazil's air force has "sent three investigators to Kazakhstan" and will provide technical support to the crash cause investigation process carried out by Kazakh authorities in line with international regulations.

The crashed airliner is a twin-engine jet manufactured by Embraer, Brazil.

Brazilian media, including G1, said the aircraft was built at an Embraer plant in Brazil.

The Brazilian Air Force, which has an air accident prevention and investigation center, is known to participate in the investigation as a competent authority in the location of the aircraft manufacturer.

Earlier, an Azerbaijani airliner departing the Azerbaijani capital Baku for Grozny, Russia, crashed near the city of Aktau in western Kazakhstan.

It killed 38 of the 67 people on board, local authorities said.
