While a cold wave warning has been issued in parts of the central part, temperatures have fallen significantly across the country, causing freezing cold.
A preliminary special warning for heavy snowfall has been issued in Chungnam and Honam as it is expected to snow a lot around the west coast by tomorrow.
I'm connecting with the reporter.
Reporter Kim Min-kyung, it was very cold this morning, how much did the temperature drop?
[Reporter]
Yes, this morning, Hyangrobong in Goseong, Gangwon-do was the coldest in the country at minus 17.2 degrees,
Temperatures dropped significantly from minus 10 to 15 degrees Celsius inland in Gangwon Province, northeastern Gyeonggi Province, North Chungcheong Province, and the mountains of North Gyeongsang Province, where cold wave warnings were issued, such as minus 13.8 degrees Celsius in ∀ and minus 12.4 degrees Celsius in Paju.
In particular, as the cold wind blows somewhat strongly, the wind chill in Goseong Hyangrobong has plummeted to minus 27.1 degrees Celsius, and some mountainous areas in Gangwon Province have plummeted to below minus 20 degrees Celsius.
In Seoul, there was no cold wave warning, but the lowest temperature this morning was minus 5.9 degrees Celsius, down about 6 degrees from yesterday, and the cold wind brought the wind down to minus 10 degrees Celsius.
This is because a strong cold below minus 30 degrees Celsius has poured down into Korea since yesterday afternoon.
Temperatures in Seoul will rise to 1 degree Celsius even in the middle of the day, but the wind chill will still remain below zero.
Tomorrow morning's temperature in Seoul will be minus 7 degrees Celsius, and the central inland and northern Gyeongbuk will be below minus 10 to 15 degrees Celsius, so the cold will not be dampened.
The cold will continue until tomorrow and ease for a while, recovering normal temperatures from Sunday, but cold air is expected to come down again in the middle and late next week.

A preliminary warning of heavy snowfall has been issued in Chungnam and Honam, how much snow does it fall?
[Reporter]
Yes, as of 9 a.m. today, a preliminary warning of heavy snow was issued in the mountains of Chungnam, Honam, and Jeju.
The fermentation time is this afternoon in Chungnam and Jeonbuk, night in Jeonnam, and dawn tomorrow in the mountains of Jeju. This is because the cloud bands developed by the cold air
passing through the relatively warm West Sea enter Chungcheong and Honam's west coast through the northwest wind.
By tomorrow, a lot of snow is expected to be up to 20cm in Jeonbuk, and 3 to 10cm in the mountains of Chungnam, Jeonnam, and Jeju.
In particular, heavy snow of up to 3cm per hour is expected to be concentrated in places where strong snow clouds pass.
As this snow is expected to be humid and heavy as last time, thorough preparations are needed to prevent damage to outdoor facilities such as greenhouses and livestock houses.
Snow will mostly stop tomorrow morning, but Jeju Island is expected to continue until the dawn of the day after tomorrow.
