A complaint was filed that it was an act of sexual exploitation by a female sanitation worker to clean the men's bathroom.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said in a national newspaper on the 27th that "it is still strange for women to clean men's toilets in an era where gender order is important these days."

A, a civil petitioner, said, "How would you feel if you saw a female beautician go into a men's bathroom and pee (you can even see a high-pitched voice) and a toilet? I think it will be male-hated, he said. "This is like an act of sexual exploitation of female cleaning cleaners." I think this is also a symbol of male supremacy," he said.

"Men's toilets should be cleaned by male cleaning cleaners," he said, adding, "In subway men's toilets with a large floating population, public perception will change a lot when male cleaning cleaners show them cleaning."

In response, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Transportation Corporation responded that the complaint could not be adopted.

The city and public corporation said, "When hiring cleaning staff, the number of male applicants is small, so the majority of women are employed and then placed in history."

"We have no choice but to clean the men's bathroom by a female employee, but when a female employee cleans the men's bathroom, we make sure to post a sign or roll screen at the entrance to inform customers that we are cleaning it so as not to inconvenience customers as much as possible and ask customers for their understanding before cleaning it," he explained. In addition, the city announced that it would find ways to reduce user inconvenience when cleaning toilets.
