Floor leader Kwon Sung-dong met with reporters after the general meeting of lawmakers and said that the vote on Han's impeachment was voted down to set the party's agenda.
National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik then warned that if the quorum of votes was set as a simple majority, it would be meaningless to participate in the vote, and that he would boycott the vote and strongly protest.
He also argued that the impeachment drive is for Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, because Lee must become president as soon as possible to cover up his crimes while public sentiment toward the current government has been sidelined by the declaration of emergency martial law.
