The special investigation headquarters of the prosecution's emergency martial law said today (27th) that it has arrested and indicted former Minister Kim on charges of engaging in important missions of rebellion and abusing his authority.
Former Minister Kim is accused of attempting to obstruct the resolution of the emergency martial law by blocking the National Assembly on the 3rd as a person who directly proposed declaring the emergency martial law to President Yoon.
He is also accused of forming and operating an arrest group for about 10 major politicians, including Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Han Dong-hoon, former chairman of the People's Power, and taking control of the NEC to secure computerized data in the server and attempt to arrest key employees.
The prosecution judged that the actions of former Minister Kim and others were a matter of national constitution by coercing the National Assembly, lawmakers and the NEC, which are constitutional institutions, to make it impossible to exercise their power.
In addition, it was considered to be a "riot" that constitutes a crime of rebellion under the criminal law, such as trying to violate or violate the freedom of physical freedom and residence of lawmakers and others in violation of warrantism.
Former Minister Kim was arrested and arrested on the 8th, five days after martial law, after voluntarily attending the prosecution for questioning.
Former Minister Kim held a press conference yesterday (26th) and protested that declaring martial law was an illegal investigation, saying it was a unique act of governance by the president.
