'Zirconia' prosthetics are included in the dental implant health insurance coverage for those aged 65 and over.

'zirconia' is a recently widely used prosthetic material because it is durable and has almost the same color as actual teeth.

Currently, only non-precious metal conduit (PFM Crown) materials are covered by implant health insurance.

In addition, in order to improve the oral health of children and adolescents, the scope of health insurance coverage for the "tooth caries test" will be expanded from 5 to 12 years old to 15 years old.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare held the 25th Health Insurance Policy Review Committee today (27th) and decided to expand the dental coverage.

The expansion of health insurance coverage is expected to be implemented early next year after revising laws and notices in the future.
