This mobile resident registration card is the fourth mobile identification card following the driver's license, veterans' registration card, and overseas national identification card.
There are two ways to obtain an IC resident registration card and recognize it on a smartphone or take a QR code to receive it.
The IC resident registration card has a chip built into the actual resident registration card, and even if you change your smartphone, you can easily reissue it by recognizing the chip, but there is an initial cost of 10,000 won.
There is no additional cost for recognizing and issuing a QR code, but if you change your smartphone, you need to visit the Administrative Welfare Center again.
The issued mobile resident registration card can also be used by public institutions, financial institutions, convenience stores, and hospitals.
In particular, blockchain and encryption technology are applied to prevent personal information leakage or fraudulent use.
