Suwon Jungbu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province said on the 24th that a police officer from the Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency has filed a petition and launched an investigation, saying text messages impersonating him are spreading.
The message included a warning not to open foreign media articles about current and former presidents and that North Korea was distributing e-mails titled "South Korea of concern" containing malicious code.
Police said they have not yet identified the suspect and explained that they are investigating the method and reason for sending it.
