Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk has noted that the U.S. needs more unmanned drones as videos and photos of what is believed to be a test flight of a new fighter jet being developed by China have made headlines online.

Musk expressed his negative view of manned fighter jets, commenting on a photo of China's next-generation fighter jets and related articles, saying, "The U.S. needs a large amount of long-range drones and hypersonic missiles."On

Online, videos and photos of a new aircraft, which has no tail wings in triangles and is believed to be a stealth fighter, flying with China's fifth-generation stealth fighter J-20 over Chengdu, Sichuan Province, became a hot topic.

Earlier on the 24th and 25th of last month, Musk posted a series of articles on X, strongly criticizing the U.S. fifth-generation stealth fighter F-35 and arguing that manned fighter jets are no longer needed.

Musk's remarks were interpreted as an intention to significantly cut the Pentagon's F-35-related budget, as he will co-head the government's new government efficiency department, which Trump has established as an advisory body for the new administration.
