Yoon Hong-geun, chairman of the chicken franchise Genesis BBQ Group, is expected to challenge the head of the Korea Skating Union again.

Chairman Yoon submitted an "expression of intention to register a candidate" to the federation yesterday (27th), and his duties were suspended.

In order to challenge the next chairman, he has to tell the federation that he will run in the election 50 days before the expiration of his term, and he has taken this procedure.

Chairman Yoon was elected by running alone in the 33rd presidential election in 2020, when the federation was a management organization, and has expanded his stride in the sports world by serving as the head of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

As Lee Soo-kyung, president of Sambo Motors Group, a former figure skater, threw her hat in the ring, the next election is expected to be held in the primary.

Lee Soo-kyung, a graduate of the Department of Physical Education at Seoul National University, worked as a data operator for the International Skating Union, an international referee, and a director of the Korea Skating Union.

The Ice Federation will receive candidate registration in mid-January and plans to hold elections after Jan. 20.
