North Korea has made a surprise reshuffle of important executives, such as replacing the Prime Minister from Kim Deok-hoon to Park Tae-sung.

The Korean Central News Agency reported that cabinet party and organizational personnel appointments, including the replacement of the prime minister, took place at the 11th plenary session of the 8th Labor Party held from the 23rd to the 27th.

Park Tae-sung was one of the closest aides to Kim Jong-un's major activities, including attending the North Korea-Russia summit, and also served as a member of the party's Central Political Bureau.

Kim Deok-hoon, who rose to the prime minister at the age of 59 in August 2020, a relatively young age, and oversaw the economy, stepped down after four years and four months.

North Korea is also expected to speed up the implementation of economic policies by appointing Kim Jeong-gwan as deputy prime minister, Kwon Sung-hwan as resource development minister, and Kim Young-sik as commercial minister.

At the same time, Foreign Minister Choi Sun-hee and General Staff of the People's Army Ri Young-gil were elected as members of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee.
