In connection with the Jeju Air plane disaster, the Thai government said a 45-year-old and 22-year-old Thai woman died.

According to local media Bangkok Post, Thai Ambassador to Korea Thani Sangrat said a 45-year-old Thai woman and a 22-year-old woman were killed on the Jeju Air plane.

"We extend our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives or were injured in this unfortunate incident," Sangrat added.

According to local media Matichon, the 45-year-old Thai woman who died was in an accident while returning from visiting her hometown after coming to Korea to work seven years ago, marrying a Korean, and settling down.The media outlet

said the father of the deceased was shocked by the news that his daughter was on the plane after the accident and shed tears, saying he wanted to see his daughter's face for the last time when the body returned to his hometown.

The 22-year-old Thai woman, who died, is a university student in Bangkok, was on a flight to Korea to meet her mother who is married to a Korean and lives in Korea, the media said.

Thai Prime Minister Patton Shinawatra said on social media that he had conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and the injured and ordered Thailand's foreign ministry to quickly help the bereaved and report related matters.

In addition, the Thai Embassy in Korea and organizations under the Thai Transportation Ministry are also working to support the bereaved families, the Bangkok Post said.
