It is difficult to identify the victims due to the Jeju Air flight disaster.

The families of the victims spent the night in tents set up in the airport waiting room.

I'm connecting you with a field reporter. Reporter Yoon Jia!

[Reporter]
Yes, it's in the waiting room at Muan Airport in Jeollanam-do.

[Anchor]
Reporter Yoon, how is the situation there?

[Reporter]
Yes, on the 1st and 2nd floors of Muan Airport, where I am located, there are temporary residences for bereaved families.

As you can see, it's packed with about 200 relief tents.

The bereaved families stayed up all night here.

Of the 181 passengers on board, 179 were confirmed, except for two survivors.

The identification process is currently in progress.

About 30 people have yet to be identified.

Every time the victim is identified, cries are bursting out from all over the waiting room.

The family has stayed here since the news of the accident broke and is watching the recovery.

Inside the relief tent, families sit idly or crouch with supplied blankets covered to their heads.

In the corner of the waiting room, you could also plug in the charger and talk on the phone and sob.

Various volunteer centers have provided support for the bereaved families. We are sharing

cup ramen and banana bottled water coffee, etc.
Voices such as
"Let's eat and cheer up" and "Anyone come" spread to the gloomy waiting room.

What is the status of the victim's identification?

[Reporter]
A temporary morgue has been installed near the hangar inside Muan Airport and is being transported as soon as it is identified.

Once identified, the family is going through the process of checking their belongings and faces.

After identification, the body will be taken to the funeral home in consultation with the family.

Eleven freezers that can accommodate bodies will arrive today.

The agency said it will set up at least one memorial altar for each of the 17 municipalities. It has been a day since the

accident, but the identification of the dead has been slow due to the frequent damage to the body, leading to a series of protests from bereaved families.

Currently, 26 national and veterinary doctors have come to the scene to speed up the examination.

I'm YTN Yun Jia in the waiting room of Muan International Airport.
