Park Yong-gap's office, a member of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, said the Korea Airports Corporation confirmed that the plane's tail hit the runway while taking off from Gimpo Airport in February 2021.
He also explained that the flight took place even after the accident at the time, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport fined him 220 million won for violating safety regulations.
In response, Jeju Air explained that the accident three years ago was classified as an incident, not an accident under the Aviation Act, because the damage was not significant.
