While the president of Yoon Suk Yeol raised the issue of the right to investigate the alleged rebellion, the Constitutional Court said the president's criminal proceedings were not related to the impeachment trial process.

In a briefing yesterday (30th), the Constitutional Court responded to the question of whether President Yoon's pointing out that the investigation system of the prosecution and high-ranking government officials is flawed could affect the impeachment trial process.

He also explained that it is up to the justice department to question the legality of the impeachment trial document delivery process, but that the related documents were served on Yoon's representative who recently submitted his appointment.

In addition, he stressed that the six-judge system is speeding up related discussions on whether it is possible not only to hear the impeachment trial but also to sentence it.

The preparation date for the second hearing of President Yoon's impeachment trial, which was suspended after the emergency martial law, will be held at 2 p.m. on January 3 next year.
