Venezuela's Supreme Court fined the Chinese video sharing platform TikTok $10 million and 14.7 billion won in our money, saying it did not prevent the spread of so-called challenge videos harmful to teenagers.
The Supreme Court said TikTok would have to pay the fine within eight days of the decision being published on its website.
Earlier, the Venezuelan government called on the company to delete the related video, saying that two children died after watching the challenge video shared on TikTok.
According to the results of the survey, a girl died after taking a sedative, saying she was imitating the Sleep Challenge.
The Supreme Court added that the fine paid by TikTok would create a "TikTok Victims Fund."
