It has been the third day since the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster, which killed 179 people.

The search is continuing as the bereaved families have asked for the search without taking even a minor piece of the victim's belongings lightly.

There is a reporter on the scene. Reporter Bae Minhyuk!

We're continuing the search, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, it's been three days since the accident.

As you can see behind me, the scene of the accident remains the same as it was at the time of the devastation.

The Jeju Air plane disaster, which killed 179 people, was a big impact on the accident, so the victims' belongings are scattered everywhere.

Authorities such as police and fire departments are continuing their search efforts by expanding the scope of the victim's body.

Earlier, the bereaved family launched a delegation to jointly respond to the accident and asked the government authorities to continue the search without taking even a minor piece of the victims' belongings lightly.

As such, the search continued until late last night, and the search resumed again from 8 a.m. today.

So far, the search has made quite a bit of progress, but it will take some time before it is completely finished.

This is because the accident site itself must be preserved, and in order to prevent damage to articles, the search authorities are continuing the search carefully, such as not mobilizing heavy equipment and using ho-mi.

The search authorities plan to complete the search work as quickly and meticulously as possible as requested by the bereaved family.

Investigation of the preserved accident site is also accelerating?

[Reporter]
Yes, it is.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, which is investigating the cause of the disaster, formed a joint investigation team with experts from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Commission and Boeing officials who arrived yesterday.

Eight U.S. experts arrived in Muan last night and started a full-scale investigation with our investigators starting this morning, starting with the Muan airport accident site.

The joint investigation team will first examine the condition and dispersion of the remaining gas debris at the site, and collect evidence such as whether there are any clues to determine the cause of the accident from the remaining parts.

When the investigation into the accident site is completed, we will move to the test and analysis center at Gimpo Airport to examine the status of the collected black boxes, including flight recorders and voice recorders, and schedule a detailed analysis.

Among the black boxes moved to Gimpo yesterday, part of the flight recorder was damaged.

In the process, the parts that can be connected to the analysis computer are broken, so the investigation team is also considering sending black boxes to the United States to check the data.
