The opposition party made the decision at the general meeting of the steering committee and passed the request for the attendance of 22 witnesses, including Presidential Chief of Staff Chung Jin-suk and National Security Office chief Shin Won-sik.
Park Chan-dae, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea's steering committee, said he will file a complaint under the National Assembly law if he does not appear next month.
Earlier, a large number of witnesses from the presidential office and the security office, including Chief of Staff Chung, submitted a statement of reasons for not attending once, citing prosecution investigations.
People's Power was absent from the meeting, protesting that it was held when the plenary session's schedule was not agreed.
