Starting with the "Quarter Place" meteor shower, which will decorate the first night sky of the new year, the first total lunar eclipse in three years and Saturn, whose rings have disappeared in 16 years are also expected to be seen.

The first space show to illuminate the night sky in the new year of Eulsa is 'Shooting Star'.
One of the three major meteor showers, the 'Quarter Place' meteor shower,
This year, the maximum period between January 3 and 4 is likely to be spectacular, with up to 120 shooting stars falling in an hour.
In particular, this year, the maximum time is around 0 o'clock on the 4th, and the crescent moon has already set, so it is a good environment to observe shooting stars without the influence of moonlight.
There are two major meteor showers left in August and December, but there is a bright moon all night in August, blurring the view, and the maximum is daytime in December, so it is unlikely to be seen.
Also, this year, a total lunar eclipse is scheduled twice in March and September, when the moon is completely obscured by the shadow of the Earth.
Among them, only the September 8th total lunar eclipse can be observed in Korea for the first time in three years.
On September 21, the sun, Earth, and Saturn will be in line, and you will be able to see the closest and brightest Saturn.
In particular, this year, Saturn's rings seen from Earth lie completely and temporarily lose sight of the rings.
It's a special Saturn that you can see for the first time in 16 years since 2009.
[Lee Tae-hyung/ Director of the Chungju Goguryo Astronomy Science Museum: Saturn has a very thin ring that is temporarily invisible when the ring faces and the Earth are aligned in a straight line, and this happens about every 15 years]
This year, such disappearances occur in March and November, but in Korea, only November 25th can be observed.
The biggest full moon on the 15th day of the lunar calendar this year will rise on Nov. 4 and the smallest full moon on Apr. 12, and the sizes of the two months are expected to differ by about 14 percent.
