Acting President Choi Sang-mok visited the western front line to encourage soldiers and check their preparedness for New Year's Day.

Acting Marine Choi Sang-mok, who visited the 2nd Marine Corps Division in Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do, said he is grateful that the sweat and efforts the soldiers make the people's daily peace and stability.

In particular, Choi expressed interest in the impact of North Korea's loudspeaker noise on the health of soldiers in the unit, and said he would actively support them if there was anything the state could support.

In this regard, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance emphasized that it will strive for reasonable compensation, training environment and continuous improvement of service conditions so that soldiers can serve with pride as the main players in the heavy mission of protecting the lives and property of the people.

The government also said it will maintain a stronger joint defense posture based on the Korea-U.S. alliance, develop security cooperation between South Korea and the U.S., and strengthen solidarity with other allies.

Acting Defense Minister Kim Sun-ho, Marine Corps Commander Joo Sun-seok, and National Security Office Defense Secretary Choi Byung-ok accompanied Choi's visit to the military unit today.
