Governor of Gyeonggi-do Province Kim Dong-yeon visited the "Joint memorial altar for victims of the Jeju Air plane disaster" at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do yesterday afternoon (1st) to pay condolences and comfort the bereaved families.

Governor Kim said, "I have to greet the first day of the new year with hope, but it is a terrible feeling," and mourned, "I pray for the victims and wish the bereaved families a hard time, but I would like to offer warm words of consolation to 14.1 million Gyeonggi residents to cheer up."

After waiting in line for about an hour, Governor Kim consoled the bereaved families and the bereaved delegation of the victims of Gyeonggi-do Province and listened to the difficulties.He also met with Governor Kim Young-rok of Jeollanam-do
and promised active support from Gyeonggi-do in dealing with accidents.

The memorial tablets and portraits of 179 victims were enshrined at the altar of the joint memorial altar, including five citizens of Gyeonggi Province.

Gyeonggi Province dispatched six 119 ambulances and 12 paramedics from the Fire and Disaster Headquarters to the scene of the accident and provided relief supplies such as shelter buses, cold-weather goods and groceries.

Governor Kim moved to Dong-gu, Gwangju, and laid flowers at the joint memorial altar for the victims of the Jeju Air plane disaster at the May 18 Democratic Square, honoring the souls of the deceased.
