Cold weather warnings have been issued in northeastern Gyeonggi Province and Gangwon Province, where cold air is expected to be below minus 10 degrees Celsius as cold air comes down.

The areas that have been issued are northeastern Gyeonggi-do, such as Yeoncheon, Pocheon, Gapyeong, Paju, Pyeongchang, Hoengseong, Cheolwon, Hwacheon, Hongcheon, Yanggu, and mountainous areas in Gangwon-do, and the effective time is 9 p.m. today (2nd).

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said the cold temperature of -12 degrees Celsius or lower in the morning is expected to last for more than two days, especially in the special report area, as a strong cold below -30 degrees Celsius moves south over the northern part of the Korean Peninsula.

There is no cold wave warning in Seoul, but the temperature will drop to minus 5 degrees Celsius tomorrow morning, and the wind chill will drop to minus 8 degrees Celsius.

Cold wave warnings are issued when the temperature drops by more than 10 degrees from the previous day to below 3 degrees, or when morning lows are expected to last more than two days below minus 12 degrees Celsius.
