Opposition judicial members held a press conference and said that the arrest warrant was issued because President Yoon refused to comply with the summons three times.
The Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit then said it had requested a warrant from the Seoul Western District Court, which has jurisdiction over President Yoon's official residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul, and refuted that it is a baseless accusation that he "shopped the warrant" as a court favorable to issuing the warrant.
He also pointed out that the claim that the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit does not have the right to investigate is absurd and that the failure of the public to recognize the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit's right to investigate is just an expression of unwillingness to be investigated.
Opposition members of the Judiciary Committee urged the members of the People's Power Judiciary Committee to resign, saying, "Please be ashamed of yourself."
