The ruling and opposition parties are dissatisfied with the appointment of acting President Choi Sang-mok as only part of the Constitutional Court, but are refraining from escalating.
The ruling party avoided further comment and focused on "stabilizing state affairs," while the opposition party continued to criticize, but lowered the level of the offensive, saying it would wait and see to push for impeachment.

People's Power The first leadership meeting of the new year focused on the message of "state stability," and there was no public comment on the controversy over the appointment of a constitutional judge.
The intention is to refrain from making remarks that may be seen as political strife during the national mourning period.
[Kwon Young-se / People's Power Emergency Management Committee Chairman: The most urgent thing to do now is to stabilize the state affairs. As the ruling party, we will work closely with the government and devote all our capabilities to restoring the economy of people's livelihoods.
There are still complaints within the party that the acting president does not have the right to appoint and that he has given the opposition party the perception that the threat of impeachment works.
However, amid the tacit consensus of some that an early presidential election is inevitable, it seems to be trying to refrain from fueling confusion in state affairs over the issue that has already left its hands.
[Kim Yong-tae / People's Power Emergency Response Committee member (SBS Radio's "Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show")] I understand that you expressed regret that you are not satisfied with.... I think the worst was avoided in the national situation.
On the other hand, the Democratic Party of Korea continued to press for disclosure, saying that the failure of Acting President Choi Sang-mok to appoint all three was unconstitutional in disregard of the National Assembly.
[Park Chan-dae / Minjoo Party floor leader: Refusing to selectively appoint three constitutional judges elected by the National Assembly is a clear violation of the separation of powers and unconstitutionality]
There was also a series of criticism from individual lawmakers that it would remain a bizarre precedent to selectively appoint a person recommended by the National Assembly.
However, he plans to put in the card of Choi's impeachment for a while to stabilize the state affairs, and internally, two people have been appointed anyway, so he also shows his intention not to raise the issue further.
[Park Sung-joon / Deputy floor leader of the Minjoo Party (CBS Radio's Kim Hyun-jung's News Show): I think we need a lot of patience at this point because there is a necessary part of stabilizing state affairs and normalizing state affairs.]
National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik did not hesitate to say that the acting Choi should appoint the other one and candidate Ma Eun-hyuk immediately, but asked for an impeachment trial without a hitch.
Both the ruling and opposition parties seem to think that any further debate over the appointment of constitutional judges is exhausting.
Instead, the ruling party is eager to highlight the risk of Lee Jae-myung's trial, and the Democratic Party is eager to attack President Yoon's wife and the independent counsel.
