The first trial date of the second trial of the Public Official Election Act by Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party of Korea has been set.

It has been about two months since the first trial was sentenced at 3 p.m. on the 23rd and November last year.

In the first trial, he was sentenced to one year in prison and two years of probation after his remarks to the effect that he did not play golf with the late former deputy director Kim Moon-ki were found to be false.

If the sentence is confirmed as it is, he will lose his parliamentary seat and will not be able to run for president for 10 years.

Earlier in September 2022, the prosecution handed Lee over to trial on charges of violating the election law, and the first trial ruling came out in two years and two months.

The court is urging the court to abide by Article 270 of the Public Official Election Act, which requires the public power to be sentenced within six months of the first trial and three months of the second and third trials.

While the second trial documents sent by the court were delivered to Lee after the third attempt, the lawyer has not yet been appointed.

On the 23rd of last month, the Seoul High Court, a second trial court, selected a public defender and notified representative Lee.
