The Standard & Poor's (S&P) 500 Index closed at 5,868.55, down 13.08 points (-0.22%) from the previous trading day, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index closed at 19,280.79, down 30 points (-0.16%) from the previous trading day.
Major stock indexes continued to fall as investor sentiment worsened on news that U.S. electric vehicle maker Tesla's total car sales fell short of market expectations last year.
In the midst of this, "artificial intelligence leader" Nvidia's stock rose nearly 3% on the back of favorable reviews from investment bank Loup Capital that "it is showing signs of continued strength."
