Diplomatic sources said Blinken will visit South Korea on his farewell tour and hold talks with Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol around the 6th.
At the meeting, Secretary Blinken is expected to emphasize the ROK-U.S. alliance and mention Korean democracy in relation to martial law and impeachment.
It is also expected to discuss the Korea-U.S. relationship in the second Trump administration, which will be launched soon.
Minister Blinken is said to plan to continue his visit to Japan after completing his schedule in Korea.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol attended the National Assembly last month and said he is considering visiting the U.S. Secretary of State Blinken at an early date.
