On the 31st, China's Warong Giant Panda One Athletes' Ping Base in Sichuan Province announced on social media (SNS) Weibo that "Fu Bao has moved to the non-city area for observation and recovery."
The base explained that Fubao's appetite and mood have increased over the past few days, but he has moved to a non-visual area since this day to reduce external interference and continuously observe health care.
However, it did not disclose when Fubao will be released to the public again.
Earlier, the base announced that construction such as roads would be carried out from the 7th to the 31st of last month and the base would be closed for safety reasons. At that time, renovation work had already been underway inside and outside the base for months, but fans raised suspicions that the closure of the base was related to Fubao's health problems.
In the same month, a number of videos were posted showing Pubao shaking and twitching while eating bamboo shoots, further amplifying the suspicion.
At the time, the base said, "Shortly after abnormal symptoms were found in Pubao, keepers and veterinarians were placed to closely observe them 24 hours a day," adding, "Pubao's appetite, movement, and bowel activities are all normal." However, it did not reveal the specific signs of abnormalities in Fubao and whether the cause was investigated.Through a media outlet
, a video of Fubao staying healthy was released. The video showed Fubao eating carrots and bamboo in the inner room, but the appearance of him lying in the corner of the cage caused fans to feel sorry.
However, as Fubao moves to non-city areas upon the reopening of the base, related suspicions are not expected to be resolved.
Meanwhile, it is known that another giant panda, Cao Cao, is located in place of Fu Bao's original room.
