Acting President Choi Sang-mok said he will pursue our diplomatic and security stance without wavering based on the strong South Korea-U.S. alliance even in difficult situations.

Acting U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Philip Goldberg and U.S. Forces Korea Commander Jayveer Brunson made the remarks at the Seoul Government Complex this afternoon (3rd).

He added that we should actively cooperate to ensure that diplomatic results, including cooperation between South Korea, the U.S., and Japan, can continue.

Ambassador Goldberg and Commander Brunson said they would try and support the South Korea-U.S. alliance to continue for more than 70 years, reaffirming the U.S. support and defense commitment to democracy and the South Korea-U.S. alliance.

Opinions on the launch of the new Trump administration were also reportedly exchanged at the meeting on the 20th, but details were not known.
